Renovation Project
“We'd already been through town planning and our architect before we came to draft consult. Their assessment found our power supply was underground, running back nearly nine metres through the front garden we didn't want touched. Fixing it as designed would have cost us $60-70K, so we went back and redesigned around it instead - meant re-selecting appliances and finishes we'd already fallen in love with, but it saved us the money. We manage risk for a living and it still got past us. We wish we'd called them before we bought the place.”

Contract & Specification Review
“We brought draft consult in to review our contract and specifications on a house and land package, along with private building inspections. Their review of the special conditions flagged inconsistencies in the project schedule, and they recommended inspections beyond the mandatory ones. One of those caught it, the slab subcontractor was a second-tier crew we hadn't been told about, and loose fill hadn't been cleared before the pour. The slab had already been signed off, and the builder tried to block access before our inspection could happen. We got the fill removed before the concrete went down.”

Warehouse Conversion Project
“Our project combined residential and commercial in one build, six neighbours to manage across two floors, shared box gutters throughout. draft consult was engaged before final approvals went through, reviewed the engineering, and found a minor change that let a significant amount of work happen before the existing roof structure came off. That cut the protection works we needed for the neighbouring properties, sped up construction, and meant a lot less risk of damage next door.”
